Busy, busy, busy...
Yesterday was a lot of fun!
I went to the 42nd Annual Encore Awards presented by the Arts and Business Council of New York (www.artsandbusiness-ny.org) at Cipriani on 42nd Street (http://cipriani.com/cipriani/Locs/ny.htm). Well...the food was AWESOME!!! Appetizers, lunch, dessert and COFFEE! Yummy...not to mention the Bellinis!
I had a great time hanging out with my intern, Shannon, and all the other ABC-NY interns and mentors.
Then I went to Shannon's job, Free Arts NYC (http://www.freeartsnyc.org/) and saw where she worked and met her, executive director, boss and co-workers. It's a cool organization!
Then we headed over to the Time Warner Building and attended the Asian Women in Business Leadership Conference (http://awib.org/) where I got the opportunity to listen to top Asian women executives speak about work/home life balance, getting to the top and working in a male dominiant society. It was an awesome session.
Here's Shannon on a piece of industrial art...
...my turn...looks cool, but not very comfy...
Anyway...I had an awesome day yesterday =)
AND...today's hump day =)
YEAH!!! Enjoy!

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
A true neutral [person] sees good, evil, law, and chaos as
prejudices and dangerous extremes. He advocates the middle way of
neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run.
Some true neutral [people] actively support balance in the world,
and seek to avoid having any one side, law or chaos, good or evil,
become too powerful over them or anyone else, and will work against

updates...
Busy busy busy...but what else is new *grin*
I had a fabulous weekend!!!
Friday - met up with my cousin Leslie! We chatted the night away and caught up over the past few months (last time I saw her was around Christmas)...she asked me if I was going to bring my boyfriend to her dad's wedding in a month...and after some conversation and with her dad and Jaji...he's going with me!
SO...
He's going to meet my parents, a set of grandparents AND many cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. ah! I'll be interesting! I don't doubt that it will be a lot of fun...I've just never been in this situation before so...we'll see.
Saturday - I did henna at a bridal shower in Long Island...more here.
Then, I drove to New Haven to meet up with my sweetie! He made me a fabulous dinner...steak and shrimp!! Steamed broccoli and a tomato and basil salad. It was awesome!!!
Sunday - we hung out at the Peabody Museum. Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE museums!! It was a cute one and we had a really nice time! I can't wait until we get a chance to hang out in NYC...I'd like to take him to the MET and the Museum of Natural History. I think he'd like them.
Today has been equally busy as this past weekend.
Today started my 5th year as a mentor in the Arts and Business Council Management Internship Program. AND as I walked in the door, Janet Wong, the Manager of this Program told me I was on the agenda and would be speaking to everyone on my past experience as a mentor! Well...lucky for me...and EVERYONE there that I ad libbed it ok and my point was driven to the audience...HAVE FUN this summer =)
Ah well...at least the rain stopped! I spent almost 4 hours driving in the car today!!! (between driving to work and to and from Manhattan/Queens)...ah...I'm tired.
BUT...I do have to go to the gym later...finish up some performance reviews...and figure out my homework.
ooh...check out my multiply site...Padme is GORGEOUS!!! And after not being home all weekend...should be posting more pics tonight =)

something awesome...
I'm working on a tattoo for one of my co-workers...and I found a REALLY cool website in the process...
http://www.greenkarat.com/customjewelry/custom1.asp
Look at CU008...third row, middle column...I'm using that claddagh as the central part...when I get a better sketch, I'll post it. I have to incorporate the guy's wife's name, anniversary date and children's names.
The more I searched the site...the cool the stuff I found...and this article:
http://www.inhabitat.com/2007/02/14/design-your-own-eco-friendly-jewelry-with-greenkarat/
How cool, huh? I mean if everyone used this type of jewelry vs. Tiffany's well...the world would just be a better place =)
Something good to think about...and keep in your mind for the future...and I know a LOT of people getting married...or have been married for a long time...USE these ideas!
I mean...how can you go wrong with:
1) supoporting local artisans
2) using recycled materials
3) supporting a voluntary carbon offset tax to reduce emissions in the production of your jewelry!
COME ON PEOPLE!!!
Think GREEN!
*steps off soapbox*
I feel much better now =)
Have a great weekend!
