It's been a while....

Time goes by so quickly...sometimes so fast that you can't keep up! 

I'm super excited to be leaving to go to Italy in a few hours!!!!!!!!!  I'm going on a cooking vacation!

Here's my itinerary:


DAY 1
 

Transfer from Rome Fiumicino Airport to medieval


hilltop village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio and


check into La Locanda Sul Lago hotel


Welcome aperitif and lunch


Relaxing afternoon followed by presentation of staff


and introduction to the Cookery Course


Exquisite welcoming dinner








DAY 2
 

Morning cooking class to learn the secrets of fresh


pasta, gnocchi, lasagna, tomato sauces and truffle


pasta


Lunch at the hotel


Afternoon visit to the Navelli Plateau in Abruzzo’s


world renowned 'Saffron Valley'


Dinner at 'Osteria Il Borgo Dei Fumari' restaurant








DAY 3
 

Leisurely morning with visit to Rocca Calascio,

Castel del Monte for the cheese and lunch at the

mountain rifugio on Campo Imperatore

Afternoon cooking class for main courses (agnello –

lamb), wild boar and dessert class (tiramisu and

pizzelle). This will roll into dinner.



DAY 4


Check out of La Locanda Sul Lago


Visit the town of Bucchianico for an olive oil tasting


Wine tasting and lunch at Claudio’s award winning


wine cellar


Onwards to our second gastronomic hotel, Villa


Danilo for welcome drinks and a delicious dinner





 


DAY 5
 

This morning will be dedicated to the preparation of


fine, yet simple, fish dishes


Lunch will be a true feast as we enjoy the fruits of


our morning's labour


As the sun starts to set we visit a nearby Agriturismo


(farm restaurant) in the hilltop village of Roio Del


Sangro. Here our hosts will entertain us with a


vegetarian cooking class followed by dinner on the


farm


DAY 6



 
After breakfast, we set off to a nearby farm to make

our own mozzarella!

Lunch at the hotel followed by a relaxing afternoon

Late afternoon 'Frui style' truffle hunt with the local

hunters, complete with a few glasses of Prosecco

while we sniff out those illusive white truffles...



Before dinner there’ll be a pizza making class

DAY 7
 
After breakfast we say goodbye to our hosts at Villa

Danilo and head to


ward the town of Sulmona on
market day
 
Lunch in Sulmona

After lunch transfer to Rome airport, arriving at 6pm

Then I'm off to Athens, Greece for 3 days!!  Whoo hoo!  I can hardly wait ;)
