I ordered it!

I just ordered a Dell Inspirion E1505! It costs an arm and a leg, but it's fast, fully loaded and I should have it and be back online by next week =)

May I suggest that before you jump into using it, that you (a) take a complete image of the hard drive; (b) nuke all junk that Dell slathers on; and (c) take an image of the system as you like it. That will go a long way to helping when you'd "like to rewind the clock and go back to when you took it out of the box". imho fwiw ymmv

Thanks John...I'll have to do that. I have an image of my last computer from 1 month ago...but all the school stuff from this past month go lost! My dad suggested also backing it up daily (automatically).

Thanks for the suggestion.

Not to be a pest about it, BUT, (after having lost about 7 months of work where my employer's IT staff was doing backup but wasn't and I took the loss!), I am a zealot about it. Maybe I'll blog about "suggestions"? I currently used a partition utility to carve out a "data drive" where I keep all my files. I back that up nightly automagically. Even for someone on a low budget, there are free uilities like Karen's replicator and free services like Mozy and others that will work for you. The trick is not to strew data files around like flower petals. Each software package defaults you into that problem.
